We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Benefit Customer Service Representative. In this role, you will have the rewarding opportunity to assist our valued client members in San Diego, CA, USA, throughout their enrollment process and when making updates to their health care and/or pension plans.

At our company, we believe in providing exceptional service, and as a Benefit Customer Service Representative, you will be given the freedom to dedicate the necessary time to ensure the highest level of support. Starting with one client, you will have the opportunity to grow and be cross-trained to assist multiple clients. Your day will involve engaging with members through phone calls, webchat conversations, and emails, in a superior service center environment located in professional buildings that recognize and appreciate your dedication.

This position offers the flexibility of remote work, while still requiring you to be local to San Diego, CA. You will have the convenience of working from the comfort of your own home, with occasional visits to the office for equipment pickup, meetings, or major projects.

As a Benefit Customer Service Representative, you will play a crucial role in building rapport with our customers. Your compassionate and respectful approach will exceed their expectations, and you will respond in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring their satisfaction. Your ability to adapt your customer service approach to meet the unique communication styles and personalities of our members, while maintaining professionalism and diplomacy even in challenging situations, will be highly valued. Handling confidential information with utmost sensitivity and discretion, in compliance with HIPAA and Data Privacy laws as well as our company’s data security requirements, will be an essential part of your role. Additionally, you will utilize your exceptional communication skills to translate complex health and welfare and pension terms into simple explanations and instructions that our customers can easily understand and act upon. By familiarizing yourself with our clients’ plan documents and online knowledgebase tools, you will be able to collect relevant information, address immediate requests and questions, and anticipate the future needs of our members.

We are looking for candidates who possess a high school diploma or GED. While previous experience in customer service or call center environments is preferred, we welcome applicants with various backgrounds. Fluency in English is required, and if you are bilingual in Spanish or French, you will receive an additional $0.75 per hour. Our work schedule offers the convenience of Monday through Friday shifts, with no weekend work required. Most locations provide flexibility within an 8-hour shift between 7 am and 8 pm, although some west coast roles may require availability from 5:30 am to 8 pm. We value flexibility!
