The Program Manager is responsible for the orderly transition of New Products from Engineering to Manufacturing, consistent with the process outlined in the New Product Introduction Process (NPI) and consistent with the changing market conditions of customer requirements. This position functions in “Matrix” and is expected to be accountable for the responsibilities outlined. This responsibility includes the following:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • New Products Program Management and Major Product Design Changes.
    • Managing all assigned NPI and substantive Sustaining Design Product programs to ensure budgets and milestones are achieved.
    • Creation and managing of product development schedules.
    • Chairing meetings as needed to manage all aspects of the individual projects.
    • Working with Project team members and Customers to resolve issues as they arise. Assess areas of risk and implement strategy to mitigate.
    • Ensures that all tasks/deliverables have been completed on time and thorough.
  • This requires reviews to be held to ensure that all work is completed as required to our SOPs.
    • Track all changes in scope that have financial impacts. Quote customer both NRE and/or recurring unit pricing impacts. Keep management apprised of all project cost impacts not covered by customer’s PO.
    • Coordinates customer NRE PO and Invoicing in alignment with Project Milestones and Supplier billings to insure coordination and complete recovery of NRE expenses.
    • On a regular basis publish updates to our management.
    • Responsible for providing NPI/NRE Sales revenue projections.
  • Customer and Supplier Interface
    • Provide Customers with a “one person/key contact” communications channel.
    • As required, in coordination with NPI Buyer/Planner, manage communications and schedules with key suppliers.
    • In conjunction with NPI Buyer/Planner manage all material deliverables to insure Project builds.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent in a technical, or business discipline. PMP certification preferred.
  • Previous Program Management experience in a high-technology electronics company.
  • Experience in more than one of the following disciplines: Development Engineering, Sales, Product Marketing, or Operations.
  • Intimate knowledge of program management tools and procedures.
  • Intimate knowledge of people management skills, particularly influence management and conflict resolution.
  • General knowledge of operations, including scheduling, procurement, manufacturing, test engineering, and quality systems.
  • General knowledge of finance, including ability to understand financial data such as product income statements, return on investment analysis, net-present value analysis.

  • A high degree of time management skills.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
