Civil Project Engineer job
Job Duties:
- Serve as Transportation Engineer/Project Engineer for roadway/transportation projects for IDOT, Tollway, or Local Agency (Municipality, Divisions of Transportation) projects, either locally funded or state/federally-funded
- Communicate with clients, contractors and staff on various roadway design projects
- Coordinate with stakeholders
- Prepare contract documents for projects ranging from resurfacing to multi-lane widening projects (Phase I & II engineering design) with associated utility infrastructure design (watermain, sanitary sewer, storm sewer)
- Responsible for development and oversight of staff engineers in preparation of project plans including (but not limited to) removal plans, plan & profile, drainage & utility, traffic staging, traffic signal, roadway cross-sections, erosion/sediment control, landscape restoration, pavement marking & signing etc.
- Generate estimates of cost, time, and project deliverable schedules
- Prepare contract specifications and front-end bid documentation
- Participate in design/client meetings
- Participate in resolution of design, field, and scheduling issues
- Limited travel required (client meetings, occasional training, etc.)
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering
- Fully Eligible to Work in U.S.(Sponsorship is not available)
- Licensed Professional Engineer (preferred) or ability to obtain within one calendar year
- Excellent written and oral communications
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Bentley Microstation ORD, GeoPak experience required
- AutoCAD Civil3D experience preferred
