Energetic, industrious, organized, reliable, kind, and personable. These are the qualities we seek in an Administrative Assistant at Throgs Neck Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. We are seeking a dedicated individual who sets goals and puts plans in place to achieve them!As Administrative Assistant, you ae delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.Salary: $45,000- $55,000 annuallyDuties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Facility’s programs and activities in accordance with guidelines issued by the Administrator.
  • Assist in the development, interpretation, and maintenance of written policies and procedures and professional standards of practice that govern the operation of the Facility.
  • Ensures that all departments are operating in compliance with CMS, State, and City regulations. This includes performing daily rounds on units and assisting in direct supervision of staff.
  • Conducts weekly environmental rounds with the Director of Maintenance and the Director of Housekeeping. Ensures that all public and resident care areas are maintained in a safe and homelike environment. Results are then reported back to the Administrator.
  • Coordinates with the HR Department to make sure that all facility staff-members are properly screened.
  • Meets with Department Heads on regular basis to discuss specific issues or concerns that may have arisen, and to develop a plan on how to address them.
  • Coordinates activities of the Facility Staff to prevent overlapping or duplication of functions, responsibilities or supervision. This includes reviewing staffing schedules.
  • Develops and maintains current relationships with other local health-care facilities, to allow for transfer and collaboration in the event of an emergency.
  • Meets with residents and family members to discuss any concerns, complaints, or issues they may have. A grievance report is written if needed. Also follows up on resolving such issues in a timely manner and taking corrective action if needed.
  • Takes part in preparing prior to any storms or impending potential disasters to assist and coordinate and that all necessary arrangements are addressed before a major storm, heat-wave, or other disaster related threat.
  • Assists with the admissions process & screening of PRI’s as needed
  • Reviews invoices and bills with Administrator to validate prior to paying.
  • Maintains presence in the facility daily and nights and as needed to ensure facility functions properly.

Requirements:

  • Must have a thorough knowledge of OBRA regulations, the survey process, survey tag numbers, and quality measures.
  • Must be knowledgeable of reimbursement regulations and nursing practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing facility administration.
  • Experience in Long-Term Care preferred
  • Covid-19 vaccination is required
