As we continue to grow, we have a career opportunity available for a talented and motivated individual to join our Corporate Team in Salinas, CA as a Paralegal/Legal Assistant. The Paralegal/Legal Assistant has responsibility for managing the day-to-day activities of a number of programs that support our business, including but not limited to all legal/litigation matters, all insurance programs (worker compensation, property and liability), businesses licenses, property management, Managing FEIN requirements, and shareholder documentation. Key responsibilities include:Establish and maintain all company entities with Secretary of State annual report filingsMaintain current all certificates of insurance and process renewals on all lines of insuranceMaintain all company intellectual property and deadlines associated with applications.Draft and review contracts for different operational groups at all company locations across the countryProcess incoming claims – personal injury, property damage, workers compensation notices and employment claims.Working with insurance broker on annual insurance renewals. Delegating forms to various departments; filling out forms; ensuring depts are getting the information and forms out in a timely manner. Working with claim adjusters and brokers to route communications to the proper HR departments within Company, reviewing notices and requests for reserves and settlement authorityDrafting real estate leases for both commercial and residential properties.Drafting and renewing leases for various properties (residential and commercial) and communication with tenants.Serve as intermediary with outside counsel and other third parties in respect to any claims, litigation, or other situation.Maintenance of shareholder/option holder information with the use of Solium software and communication with persons as needed.Notary duties – maintain Notary certification; be available for notarizing company documentsProvide other administrative support as needed Qualifications· 4+ years managing programs as listed above. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.Excellent organizational, planning, and follow-up skills. Must have ability to meet deadlines and be efficient, detail oriented, flexible, and a self-starter Complete attention to detail – the individual demonstrates a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness, detailed oriented, monitors own work to ensure quality, and open to feedback Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications and Adobe Acrobat (ability to mail merge and use electronic signatures)Will work on-site at our facility located at 150 Main St. (no option to work remote)Good verbal and written communications skills Travel: Potential for 5% – 10% domestic travel. Salary range: $75- $85KEOE
