Manager, Alumni Programs, Harvard Innovation Labs job

The Manager will help drive key activities across the Harvard i-lab and Launch Lab X GEO’s alumni and student program offerings. Responsible for the delivery and execution of programs that support our entrepreneurs, the Manager has an eye out for how best to run processes and marshal our team and technology for maximum efficiency. They will ensure seamless execution of our alumni programs, which support our innovators and entrepreneurs, including the LLX GEO program and other alumni activities. In The position will be responsible for planning of and the delivery of activities in service to alumni audiences, including building and engaging with a network of speakers and experts, competition judging, customer service, marketing, and event-related operations. The Manager will report to the Director of Alumni Programs and Engagement.Position DescriptionResponsibilities Include:

Manage the delivery and execution of LLX GEO and other i-lab alumni offerings:

  • Serve as the primary point person, making sure that all key activities across alumni are executed meticulously. These include project managing the process for applications, judging, speakers, experts, and execution of all workshops and events.

Engage with the Alumni Community:

  • The Manager will oversee the relationship management and support communications and outreach activities to LLX GEO experts, speakers, and the wider alumni community.
  • Managing and optimizing engagement in communication channels, providing email updates to the LLX GEO alumni community, collecting content for the Harvard Innovation Labs newsletter, (e.g., profiles, alumni news events, articles), and building a watch list of high-potential alumni teams within the Harvard ecosystem.

Support Data Management & Reporting:

  • Ensure alumni data (LLX GEO participants, watch lists, former i-lab students, and experts) and student data are added and highlighted in the CRM.
  • Ensure that data is coordinated across other teams at the labs, including the technology and network engagement group. I
  • n addition to data management, this role includes collecting survey feedback for programs and specific events, to understand program impact and customer satisfaction
  • Support Strategic Alumni Projects:
    • Help scope, develop, prioritize, and plan new opportunities, and help develop the appropriate infrastructure for execution.
  • The Manager will be the administrator on these projects.

Liaise with other teams:

  • Build and nurture close collaborations with teams across the Harvard Innovation Labs, including Advising, Network Engagement, Marketing/Creative, Technology, Operations, and ensure that alumni and student programs are aligned and coordinated on objectives.
  • Identify which projects have dependencies with other teams and identify the best mechanisms for coordination.
  • Implement repeatable processes that work well for all involved.

This role is responsible for other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Education beyond high school may count toward experience.
  • 5 years of related experience required

Additional Qualifications And Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to see all the operational steps required to reach completion of a project and create a timeline, with adequate buffer time and contingency planning
  • Proven experience leading multiple projects requiring collaboration across teams of diverse people to achieve results.
  • Excellent capability to delegate tasks and quality control results
  • Strong experience building partnerships and developing relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to hold stakeholders accountable to commitments and deadlines
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation)
  • Proven ability to deliver results with minimal oversight (self-starter)
  • Ability to quickly learn and adeptly utilize a variety of technology platforms Agility, gravitas, and high EQ
  • The ideal candidate is proactive, collaborative, methodical, detail oriented, and can anticipate next steps.

Working Conditions

The ability to work occasional overtime, including evenings and weekends, to meet deadlines and oversee and/or attend events is neccesary

Additional Information

This position is approved as a term appointment with an end date of 4/30/24.There is a possibility of renewal/extension.

This role is offered as a hybrid (some combination of onsite and remote) where you are required to be onsite at our Boston, MA based campus 3 days per week. Specific days and schedule will be determined between you and your manager.
