Join our team in building lives that work!Job DescriptionThe Shift Supervisor role is responsible for assisting the store management team in retail operations. This person assists in supervising employees, implementing training programs, and demonstrating our Company values and DGR guiding principles. Their functions contribute to our mission by mentoring employees, continued training, and coaching for our retail locations to be fiscally viable while holding to our standards of behavior and stewardship.

  • Have exceptional and clear communication:
  • Relays information between store personnel and management.
  • Keeps specified information confidential.
  • Demonstrates exemplary customer service.
  • Communicates with all staff throughout the workday.
  • Offers guidance and clear instruction to retail associates.
  • Employee accountability and productivity:
  • Operates effectively using procedural guidelines.
  • Assists in evaluating employee’s performance.
  • Ensures each store meets production goals.
  • Ensures employees time is accurate and timely.
  • Safety and Loss Prevention:
  • Reports and prevents any safety concerns or health violations.
  • Pays attention to sales floor and backroom for loss prevention and documents as needed.
  • Counts and balances register cash drawers to prepare bank deposits.
  • Follows all speculations under Consumer Product Safety Commission recalls and the Hazardous Communication Policy and Procedures.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to work independently in a store team environment.
  • Academic preparation preferably at high school level or GED preferred.
  • One year of retail experience preferred or demonstrates leadership qualities.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older or completed high school education, have command of the English language sufficient to communicate with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Must have a desire to work with rehabilitation consumers, employees, and the public.
  • Must be able to pass alcohol/drug screening.
  • Criminal background check required.
  • First Aid CPR Certified if assigned by Safety Coordinator (training provided)
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license, adequate personal liability insurance, and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill’s insurance provider or review/waiver signed by the President/CEO.
